It has definitely been a busy year here at Omaha Paranormal Research. Which is one of the reasons the site has not been updated recently. This year started our first year doing Paranormal Seminars which really took off after the first one in January. We were contacted by a catholic school who will remain UN named, who wanted us to speak to one of the classes. The only O.P.R members who were available that day were Co- Founder John (Mike) Perrine, Lead Investigator Stephanie Perrine, and Myself (Founder.) There is a picture somewhere on this blog of us in the classroom. We had a lot of fun even if it was only 45 minutes. We showed them our equipment and evidence and they were eager to learn, and had a lot of great questions.

Shortly after that seminar we were contacted by someone at the La Vista Public Library who wanted a 3 hour seminar geared towards their summer teen program. The teens got to pick what their theme was, and they picked 10 weeks (or so) of Halloween. We got there early and set up. The O.P.R. members that came to help with seminar were Co-Founder John (Mike) Perrine, Lead Investigator Stephanie Perrine, Case Manager/Sensitive Aly Vanderboegh, and Myself (Founder.) We got a big screen to hook our laptop up too and the room itself was huge! The turnout was about 30 - 40 people. We went introduced ourselves, showed them the equipment as well as describe how it’s used. Then we went over all the places we have gone that have given us permission to share evidence. Once evidence was reviewed our case manager and Sensitive Aly Vanderboegh went over sensitivity, and then the teens got some hands on time for the mini investigation. We had some interesting spikes on the EMF but that was about it. They also asked some good questions and gave us some good opinions on some of the pictures shown.

It just so happened that the lady who contacted us for the La Vista Public Library had a finance who did the exact same job with teens at the Bellevue Public Library so we set up a second seminar for them only 2 or 3 days later. It was gear towards teens as well but this time we did have some adults. It was a smaller room but this one had a projector screen like the last but had a really good sound system for audio. I think there were at least 20 people at the seminar. Sadly less people from O.P.R could make it so it was just our Case Manager / Sensitive Aly Vanderboegh, and myself (Founder.) Even though we were short on staff we had a great time and the seminar was preformed exactly like the last one. When the mini investigation rolled around we let them use the pre selected equipment that was allowed to be used. Unfortunately some people were not taking it seriously and were throwing books off the shelves or jumping out at people trying to scare us. That’s bound to happen at some seminars even though it was harder for the ones who were taking it seriously to learn. At this seminar we met Mellissa who had our audio recorder. Her group was amazing at trying to stay away from the noisier people and she took it really seriously. This earned her a slot on our team shortly after this seminar. The library itself is amazing. We are still trying to get an investigation set up there.

This leads us to our most recent seminar. We were contacted just this last month or so by the downtown branch of the Omaha Public Library. This one - unlike the other 3 is a public seminar so all are welcome to come! They have 49 available slots as of the time I am writing this. The seminar date is Monday November 5th, 2012. This one will only be 2 hours long. Sadly due to time constraints there will not be a mini investigation but we will still allow people to test out some of the equipment. We will go over our evidence as well as how you can research history on a location. While we are on the topic of seminars, we will be attending the second annual UNO Paranormal Summit this Friday, October 12th, 2012. We won’t be speaking or anything but will be there to support our friends. As well as meet up with some teams we have met earlier this year in the crowd. I am also very proud of Carla from The Squirrel Cage Jail who will be speaking there about the jail! You will do a great job Carla!

As well as all of the paranormal seminars we have had a lot of investigations. 3 of which were in home investigations and sage cleansings. Four of our investigators (Lead Investigators: Stephanie, Stacey, Danii, and myself (Founder.) as well as some of our friends from Paranormal Distraction got a chance to investigate The Farrar Schoolhouse in Maxwell, Iowa, with Brad and Barry Klinge from Ghost Lab as well as Johnny Houser from Villisca! They were shooting for their new show called The Dead Truth. It was really cool to meet all of them. We also revisited The Squirrel Cage Jail in Council Bluffs, Iowa this year. We absolutely love that location. Only problem is, is that it echoes badly. This time we decided to stay outside in the courtyard area when we were not investigating to cut down on noise, even though it did not work. We had some interesting things happen to us. I myself heard a whispery voice in the Infirmary on the third floor when I went up there with Mellissa. I had asked something along the lines of “I heard you would purposely hurt yourself to get out of your jail to come here. Is that true?" then we heard a whispery voice between us. I thought I heard "Yes." The other members of the group also got some interesting things as it seemed there was a little girl following us. Stuff was starting to happen even before we were set up. While the people who have yet to be at the jail took the tour, Stacey, Tara, Steph, and I got the DVR set up.

Aly who was in the tour group felt a touch on her arms as well as a female voice said in her ear "My name is Emma" momentarily before the tour guide Carla mentioned that there was a little girl who stayed at the jail name Emma. As for evidence review we had some strange glitch with our DVR Cameras. It looked like someone rewinding a vhs tape. It only happened on two cameras but it happened a lot over the night. This has never happened to us before and the DVR is only 2 years old (and we have only used it about 5 or 6 times.) We are still looking it to it being a random glitch. As far as audio we did not get to much, well at least on my end we got some though. We got some amazing stuff on Stacey, Danii, and Dyllon's Audio recorders and we will share it as soon as we get a copy of it.

The last and most recent investigation was the long awaited Villisca Axe Murder House in Villisca, Iowa. We went Sept 28th, 2012. We are still going over the evidence and we already have an interesting evp. We cannot make out what it is saying all the way and want to see if you can hear anything different. Sadly Johnny Houser was at Scarefest so he was not home but we knew from shows and radio broadcasts that his whole second floor was locked off so no one could go upstairs. We saw a light on the top floor come on and several people including myself saw dark shadow figures moving in the room. I contacted Johnny when we got home and he confirmed that no one should have been in his house at all.

We had such a great time at Villisca. We also met the local cat who lives in the barn (only when people are there.) named Tippy because he is all black with a white tipped tail as well as one paw had a little white. It was a chilly night indeed and having a snuggly cat on your lap helped a lot. The activity in the house was not as you would think. Not to much actually happened in person. We are hoping that with the 12 to 14 hours of audio we each have on multiple recorders, Video Cameras, and DVR Cameras that we will catch a lot of evidence.

This is one of the reasons we have not updated the site much because we have had so much going on which we are grateful for. We also have a huge upcoming case in April of 2013 which unfortunately we cannot go to much into but I can say that it’s in Omaha for once and will be a massive location in which 15 of our 18 members can go on!. We are hoping to go to The Farrar Schoolhouse as well next year in ether the summer or fall. This time it will be just O.P.R members that would go. That can only be planned as of 2013 because Farrar only plans one year at a time.

We had a lot of fun last Friday (06/15/12) at the Bellevue Public Library Paranormal Seminar.
We are currently uploading the pictures and reviewing the audio.  I have already gone over all of the audio myself and I do not believe we caught any EVP's, Aly will also go over it soon just in case.

We had so much fun yesterday at the seminar.  We got to hook up the laptop to a projector it was really cool. Everyone seemed like they had a blast. They asked some really good questions and we even had a mini investigation. We taped the majority of the seminar. Here are the pictures.

So next week we have two Paranormal Seminars lined up for two different local librarys with teen programs. We are excited to meet everybody. We have 3 hours to work with at each location so we will have plenty of time to cover information and maybe even a mini investigation.

So on February 21st 2012 Omaha Paranormal Research had it's first paranormal presentation!!!  It was alot of fun. The class was awesome, they had alot of good questions and were very interested in what we do. Thanks to everyone at St. Bernadette Middle School for having us. Here is a picture they took.
